UMD Appoints Alexander Avramoski as new Sydney/NSW Representative; Thanks Tony Joseski for Service

The United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD) Board of Directors has officially appointed Alexander Avramoski as the new Regional Representative for Sydney and New South Wales (NSW), Australia.  The Board thanks outgoing representative Tony Joseski for his great work, service, and friendship.

UMD Board Member and Australia Director Ordan Andreevski stated, “Alexander has been recruited for this important leadership position in Sydney based on his combination of advocacy, marketing and communication skills.  He also has a strong passion for advancing Macedonian culture and identity and is ready and able to nurture close links with key institutions and communities in Sydney and across NSW.  I am confident that Alexander and his team of young, highly educated and motivated UMD members and supporters will make a very positive and significant contribution to the social, cultural, policy and public diplomacy outcomes of UMD in Sydney and beyond.”

Alexander Aco Avramoski was born in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia.  His family migrated to Australia in 1984.  Alexander has little family living in Australia and wants to do more for the Macedonians.  He is a true believer in uniting Macedonians all over the world as one voice again and believes that his best chances of achieving this goal is through his involvement with UMD.  As a long-time supporter of UMD, Avramoski believes his time has come to do more and that our community will only be heard and move forward if it unites.

“I truly believe that we all need to do more to support UMD as they have made an effort to make our voices heard on so many issues that are important to the Macedonian diaspora and to Macedonia.  They speak up about the injustices our people and the Republic of Macedonia have had to put up with.  If we do not make an effort to do something for our community and for Macedonia we could lose what little we have left of our homeland,” said Avramoski.

“UMD is trying to unite us and help us achieve collective impact in places that matter the most.  If we all, as individuals or families, make a little effort to support them any way we can, then we will start to unite.  I joined UMD because it is an international organisation that has positively influenced national, parliamentary and policy debates in Australia, Canada, the USA, and in Macedonia.  I know with my passion and enthusiasm I can make a difference in this organisation and the Macedonian community across NSW,” concluded Avramoski.

Avramoski has a successful business in the Gas Detection Industry.  He is a respected Service Manager in instrumentation and as a contractor to many government departments and major corporations.  He works with Royal Australian Air Force, AGL, Australian Aerospace, INCO Ships, and many others. In 2008, he was made NSW agent for two well-respected manufacturers, Riken-Keiki Japan and RKI Instruments USA.
